Tan Gim Boon, 35 years old, was appointed as General Counsel of TMI in October 2004. Gim has worked in a few of Malaysia's leading law firms and also in Australia (Allen Allen & Hemsley (now Allens Arthur Robinson)).  Prior to joining TMI, Gim was in private practice in one of Malaysia's largest law firm, Zaid Ibrahim & Co from 2003 to 2004.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in 1993 and a Bachelor of Laws in 1995 from University of Adelaide, Australia and holds a Master of Laws 2000 from University of New South Wales, Australia. Gim was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1997 and admitted as a solicitor in New South Wales, Australia 2002.
